I had a tournament on September 16, 2017 at Bay Area Racquet Club, the Bay Area Racquet Club September Jr. Open. It was a round robin format and my first match opponent was Danna Cai. She had a great spin serve, but I also had mine. I would try to put a lot of spin on my serves so that she would make more errors in returning my serves. I tried to attacked more, but my groundstroke attacks usually went into the net. I lost a few games because of my errors, but came out on top with a won, 4-2; 4-1. My last match was with a training partner of mine Fiona Fuke, which I ended up winning 4-1; 4-1. We both knew each other's game very well. I stayed really calm and waited for the right time to attack. Fiona was a type of player that liked to hit hard, fast ball. Sometimes she would hit really hard at me, and, of course, I would make errors return her ball. My attacks were, however, really good! I hit a lot of clean winners during this match. I would give up many free points because of my own mistakes, but Fiona also made a lot of mistakes during the match.
Well, it was only two matches added to my winning streaks. I wonder how long I could keep this winning feeling before experiencing losing and "learning" tennis all over gain. :-) Right now I'm taking each tournament, each match, each game, and each point as a lesson to do better. Up next would be Racquet Pro Deer Park Fall Challenger 1-Day (10s) on Oct 7th. Thank you for stopping by as I get to share my joy and happiness tennis has brought me. Love, Karina Zaharieva. |
